Building From Bedrock 1K

This intro was created for the Assembly summer 2024 1K intro competition, where it placed 1st. Since this was the first time one of my kids came along, I was inspired by one of their favourite games :) The music was made by Miss Saigon on a very limited size and time budget.

You can watch the intro on Youtube here: https://youtu.be/yDIRSU-8coQ

For feedback, the Pouet page is here: https://www.pouet.net/prod.php?which=97442

If you have a fast enough Nvidia video card, you can run the executable yourself, download it from here .

Warning: Windows Defender doesn’t like the 1K assembler magic that is needed to create this, and will report it as a virus (and delete the exe). You might want to download it in a folder that is excluded from the virus scanning.

Creative Carving 1K

This done-in-a-hurry 1K was made for the Demosplash 2023 combined intro competition, where it placed 1st. It’s based on a recursive torus idea that I had for quite a while, with some added near-Halloween styling.

You can watch it on Youtube , feedback welcome on Pouet

Or you can download the executable and run it yourself: Creative Carving 1K by Fulcrum

Jumpgate 10.24 1Kb intro

Jumpgate 10.24 is our contribution to the Assembly 2020 1 kilobyte intro competition. It was an online-only event, for obvious reasons, but we’re glad it wasn’t cancelled.

You can watch the intro on Youtube: https://youtu.be/Cv4DYmxgYlQ

Or you can download the executables (1K versions and safe versions) here: zip archive. Note that some virusscanners may confuse 1K intros with malware due to the unconventional coding techniques. The almost-compo version is nvidia only and rather slow, I recommend running one of the safe versions.

Screen Lit Vertigo 1K

Here’s our entry for the Assembly 2018 1 kilobyte intro competition, it placed 2nd out of 13. It needs a fairly fast videocard to run the 1K compo versions at 60 FPS (GTX 1080 TI for the 1080p version, GTX 1060 for the 720p version), but the safe versions which are a bit bigger than 1K and don’t have the uglier hacks should run pretty much everywhere.

Escape Through Subspace 1K

Escape

This is our contribution to the Assembly 2016 1K competition, where it took the 1st place. You need quite a powerful graphic card to run it in realtime. (RX 470 level for 720p version, GTX 1080 for the 1080p version). There is some making-of information in the readme.txt in the archive.

Dystaxia

This is our 1K entry for Assembly 2013. It placed 5th out of 13 entries. I had a lot of fun making this.
WARNING: for the party version, you need a very fast graphics card and vsync enabled to see (and hear) this intro correctly. It should run about 68 seconds.
